Our “Team” Statement
To achieve the goals we have set, it will take a strong commitment from all; coaches, players, and family members. Through a strong networking of all three, together we can accomplish many of the tasks involved in running a successful volleyball club. The season will have many exciting moments and possibly a few disappointments along the way, as all sports do. I hope we can work together to strive to meet the next challenge with enthusiasm and integrity that we will all be proud of. I welcome you to our club and look forward to working with all of you throughout the season.
The RC Philosophy
Through the understanding of total commitment; the River City Juniors Volleyball Club wants to create a positive and enthusiastic learning environment, stressing the fundamentals and team aspects of volleyball, while utilizing the practice and competition opportunities to enhance and develop each player’s skills, while incorporating a working unit amongst all players, coaches, and parents.
The RC 12-14 Philosophy
The main focus of the 12-14 & under teams will be to give an equal amount of playing time to all individuals in the first half of the season. This will be dependent upon each individual responsibility of attending all practices, attitude, and coachability. During the second half of the season the goal will be to improve the competitive nature of the team.
The RC 15-18 Philosophy
Our philosophy for our 15-18 & under teams will be to compete at the highest level, both regionally and nationally. One of our main goals will be to qualify for nationals at a national qualifier or through the regional tournament. To achieve this goal it must be understood that players may not receive an equal amount of playing time. They will train and compete on a higher level, allowing all individuals the opportunity to develop individual and team skills.
As club director of River City, I believe, our main focus is to: 1) train the fundamentals through hardwork and developing the best techniques to be the most efficient player possible, 2) have fun and enjoy the game, the relationships, what it takes to become a better volleyball player, and 3) always compete as hard as we can and let the results of all three speak for what River City represents.
